Linden flower is believed to be calming and may be used to heal the heart. It is used to improve sleep, to sooth nerves and anxiety, to reduce spasms and cramps, and to facilitate digestion with it's tannic components. The Linden (Tilia) or lime tree is represented in literature and folklore of a number of cultures. In Baltic mythology, it is the sacred tree of the goddess Laima, who women would pray and make sacrifices to for luck and fertility. In Germanic mythology, the Linden tree is the tree of Freyja, the goddess of love, sex, beauty, fertility, gold, war, and death. Ruled by Jupiter. Element Air.
